Kathy Azarcon, Membership Chair, announced some new incentives to generate more members. Guests will no longer receive a free dinner. Instead, members who bring a guest should use their complimentary ticket voucher given out with your new membership certificate. The member will need to sign the voucher and give it to their guest so they can attend the meeting for free.
Kathy also announced that every member that gets at least five wedding professionals to join in 2007 will receive a FREE membership renewal in 2008! That’s a $125 savings! Isn’t that worth getting five new members?
Our featured speaker for the night was Kathia Morales Waithe of Type Away Virtual Assistant Services based in
Baltimore, Maryland . Kathia gave a concise overview of how a Virtual Assistant can help your business save you time and money. A Virtual Assistant is the new way of having an assistant help you with all your administrative tasks as well as designing Web sites, providing word processing services and a multitude of other tasks. Think of having a Virtual Assistant as being the new kind of Administrative Assistant. The big difference is you won’t have to pay an employee that uses up space and equipment. It also will save you from having to pay payroll taxes, unemployment taxes and all other benefits you would normally have to pay or provide a full-time employee.
Consider hiring a Virtual Assistant if you find that handling the administrative functions of your business to be too overwhelming, need more time to focus on securing new business and generating revenue, rather than submersing yourself in an endless sea of administrative chores, or if you just need help with a one-time project.
Kathia wrapped up her presentation by giving us a list of Web sites to check out of what business communities are saying about Virtual Assistants as well as sites for finding a Virtual Assistant. Listed below are those Web sites:
