Recap:

November 28 Meeting

Our last meeting of the year took place at the beautiful City Tavern Club located in the heart of Georgetown, Washington, DC.  The building opened as an inn in 1796 and served many of our founding fathers, notably George Washington, John and Samuel Adams, and Thomas Jefferson.
As our host, Sue Hamilton explained, the club is available for private parties when sponsored by a club member (contact Sueinnovent@aol.com for details).  Director of Special Events, Megan Showers, gave a tour of the club.  We took the stairs up many flights, but there is also an elevator.

Megan Showers, City Tavern Club, Director of Special Events

The working fireplaces in most of the meeting rooms add to the building's historic character and charm.  Situated near the corners of Wisconsin and M streets, the club is perfect for Georgetown-based events such as brunches, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies and receptions.

The Long Room                           The Bliss Room                     The Great Room

Members were greeted with passed Hors d'Oeuvres.  As our speaker, Cherise Rosemond of Liquid Web Designs, LLC, began her presentation in The Bliss Room, members enjoyed a delicious dinner.   When Cherise was finished, members were excused to The Long Room for coffee and dessert.  The City Tavern Club provided chocolate-dipped strawberries to accompany the beautiful and delicious cake provided by AWP member, Randi Goldman of Something Extra Cakery.

Cherise Rosemond instructed us...... and particularly stressed the need to back up all computer data to a remote location.  Anything that is plugged into an outlet is at risk of lightening-strike meltdown - a surge protector will not protect against this.
